DAY 0 - SEPTEMBER 27TH : ARRIVAL – KIGALI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Welcome to Kigali! Upon landing at Kigali International Airport, our local guides will greet you, assist with your luggage, and arrange your transfer to the Radisson Blu Hotel—a premium four-star property located in the heart of the city.
After a seamless check-in, the afternoon is yours to unwind using the hotel’s amenities or step out to explore Kigali, either independently or alongside fellow travelers. This is an arrival rest day with meals on a self-pay basis, concluding with an evening welcome meeting at the hotel.
Please note: This arrival day is separate from the main tour itinerary and requires an additional one-night hotel booking
DAY 1 - SEPTEMBER 28TH : DAY 1 OF PROGRAMMING AND ADDITIONAL ARRIVALS FROM KIGALI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Those arriving at Kigali International Airport, you will be greeted and welcomed by our local guides, who will assist you with your luggage. You will then be transferred to RADISSON BLU HOTEL, one of the city’s four-star hotels located in the heart of the city. You will have a relaxing check in and the afternoon to enjoy the hotel amenities or explore the city with our other guests. Dinner included and an evening meeting will be enjoyed at the hotel.

DAY 2 - SEPTEMBER 29TH: KIGALI GENOCIDE MEMORIAL AND GUIDED CITY TOUR

Activities & Highlights: Guided tour of the Kigali Genocide Memorial, city sights tour, and a visit to Inshuti Arts Gallery.
DAY 3 - SEPTEMBER 30th: SCENIC DRIVE TO VOLCANOES NATIIONAL PARK & DIANE FOSSEY FUND
Location: Volcanoes National Park
Accommodation: Mountain Gorilla View Lodge
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Activities & Highlights: Morning overland transfer from Kigali to the Virunga foothills, afternoon visit to the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, and evening Intore dance performance at the lodge.
(Approximate 2.5 hour scenic drive on well maintained roads through the mountains of Rwanda with snack and rest room breaks)
DAY 4 - OCTOBER 1st: MOUNTAIN GORILLA TREKKING EXPERIENCE

Activities & Highlights:
After an early breakfast at 6:30 am, we will head to the park headquarters for a short briefing about the mountain park and will be assigned to gorilla tracking groups. After the briefing, at 7 am, trekking starts along the paths in the bamboo forests. This amazing activity can take between 2 to 6 hours as you track the mountain gorillas. The tracking involves walking and hiking through the natural habitat of the gorillas in search of them. Once you find them, keep a distance of 7 meters and spend 1 hour observing and interacting with them, taking pictures, and participating in activities designed to help them get accustomed to human presence so they can trek normally in the future. In order to ensure the long-term viability of the gorillas population, all treks are limited to one hour of observation. This may be one the most memorable hours of your life. You will be able to see young apes playing with one another, mothers nursing and silverbacks overseeing their pod. After completing the trek we will return to the hotel for relaxation. Full board meals included througout the day.
What to wear and carry: rain gear,walkable/waterproof shoes, insect repellent, packed lunch/snacks and bottled mineral water, carry gardening gloves and a camera.
After experiencing the Gorillas we will head directly back to the lodge for a relaxing unscheduled afternoon to allow everyone to settle into the wonder of the Gorilla experience.
DAY 5 - Oct 2nd: RETRUN TO KIGALI AND URBAN CULTURAL TOUR

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Activities & Highlights: Morning transfer back to Kigali, visits to a local Milk Bar, the Car-Free Zone, Mount Kigali viewpoints, and an afternoon tour of Inema Arts Center.

After enjoying a buffet breakfast at the hotel we will depart for the Kigali Airport. For those of us heading on to the 2nd part of our Fellow-Ship African Adventure, we will board our flight to Arusha Tanzania to be greeted by our next guides upon our arrival to start our SERENGETI SAFARI ADVENTURE.
